The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (“ACCA”) is one of the world's leading accountancy organisations and a globally recognised symbol of accountancy expertise. It follows education standards set by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and focuses strongly on professional values, ethics, and governance.

As an industry body, ACCA has 140,000 members and 404,000 students in over 170 countries. Once you qualify, ACCA membership opens doors to a successful career in accountancy practice or finance, and increases your earning potential. It is highly regarded in the fields of banking, management and consulting, and provides a major advantage in competing for senior roles.  Its members are internationally recognised in public practice, industry, commerce and the public sector. ACCA membership also allows you to obtain status as a Registered Auditor.

Skills like these are in high demand as the accountancy profession moves towards strengthened codes of conduct and tightened regulation.

In order to become a fully qualified ACCA member, you will need to complete:

• 14 qualification exams
• A Professional Ethics module
• A minimum of three years practical experience

The ACCA qualification exam syllabus is divided into two levels: the Fundamentals level and the Professional level. Both need to be passed in order to become qualified. 

The new Foundations in Accountancy provides entry routes to school leavers onto the professional programme, as well as a suite of entry level certificates and diplomas.
