Apr-11: Harley Reed (Ghana) wins tender to develop GAPTE

Harley Reed (Ghana) has won the tender and been awarded the contract to design the Greater Accra Passenger Transport Executive ("GAPTE"). The project will include designing the executive, developing its strategy, liaising with all stakeholders and creating a technical draft of the enabling legal instrument for the Executive.

The Executive will be the main coordinating unit for Greater Accra, responsible for planning, management and follow-up of urban transport in the area. The Urban Transport Project as a whole will reduce traffic congestion and its associated negative environmental impact and promote more sustainable means of transportation. This will also participate in the reduction of travel time, thus increase overall economic productivity.
